What are your 2023 skin goals?

January is typically the time for new year’s resolutions - a commitment to exercise daily, meditate more, stress less or take up a new hobby.

But for skin and beauty specialists, the new year is prime time to get our clients focused on their skincare routine and making a commitment to invest in the long-term condition and maintenance of their skin.

For many clients, a renewed focus on their skin in the early months is timely. It comes on the back of summer holidays, when long days outside, sunburn, and increased exposure to alcohol, the ocean and swimming pool chlorine, can wreak havoc on your skin.

Many clients return from their Christmas break in desperate need of a solid skincare regime to rebuild their skin cells, and rejuvenate their face, just in time for the cooler months.

That’s where we come in - as Mudgee skin specialists, we work with our clients to develop a personalised, easy-to-follow skincare regime that keeps skin looking healthy, lush, and supple all-year-round.

We devise a custom treatment and product routine for your skin type, and we work with you to ensure your skin dreams come true!

Here’s a few tips from the Beauty Reclaimed Cosmetic Centre Mudgee skin clinic to kick off your 2023 skin journey:

1. Establish your skin goals

Work out exactly what you want from your skincare journey in 2023. Is it redness or frequent break-outs you want to control? Maybe you want to finally stick to a daily skin regime? Do you want to simplify your impossible-to-manage 10-step routine to a clean and simple three-step process?
Maybe you’ve noticed your supermarket skincare is no longer cutting it for your ageing concerns? Perhaps you just want clearer, smoother, fresher skin?
Decide what you want to achieve for your skin this year and then, get in touch - our team of skin specialists will work with you to fine-tune your goals and devise a treatment + product plan to help you achieve them!

2. Book in your treatments

If you’re looking for fresh, rejuvenated skin in 2023, we recommend booking your treatments for the year ahead so you can keep on top of your skin’s condition.
Like anything, looking after your skin takes time and regular maintenance, so book your appointments, particularly exfoliating treatments like skin peels and epidermal levelling, early so you’re starting the year with a blank canvas, ready for the next 12 months.
Similarly, if you’re keen to target specific skin problems like acne or pigmentation, book in your course of laser or needling treatments well-ahead of time. Typically, 3-6 sessions are needed, which can take more than three months to finish.
Chat to our team about your appointment schedule, including down-time between bookings. We will be happy to tailor a package to suit you!

3. Sort your at-home routine

Beauty Reclaimed Cosmetic Centre clients can testify to one of our key messages: there’s no point spending hundreds of dollars on in-clinic treatments if you’re not going to look after your skin at home!
Many of our treatments, including laser skin therapy, work to promote collagen and elastin production for improved skin texture and tone. To extend the life of these in-clinic treatments, we advise our clients to stick to a daily skincare regime (morning and night!) to keep their skin healthy and fresh between appointments.
Our favourite regime includes:
•  Cleanser: energise your skin by cleansing morning and night to eliminate impurities and dead cells and remove any make-up.
•  Exfoliation: great for summer skin that’s been damaged by the sun or dried out. Exfoliating helps to refine rough, dry skin - add it into your regime two to three times a week. Choose between a manual or chemical exfoliant. Not sure what you skin needs? Just ask!

•  Serum: soak those luxe ingredients, like vitamins and probiotics, deeply into your newly exfoliated skin! Apply morning and night after cleansing.

•  Hydrate: helps to improve texture and achieve skin elasticity. Look for moisturisers with hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin to improve skin firmness by reducing expression lines. Apply morning and night.

•  Sunscreen: pop on your SPF 50+ before you add your make-up to keep your skin protected from the sun.

4. Invest in your products

We always advise our clients to spend a little more on their skincare products, especially if you’re putting them on your face! We like to think of it as an investment in your skin today to help keep it supple well into the future.
As you can imagine (and appreciate!) there is a marked difference between supermarket skincare quality (and dare we be unpopular and include those “organic” products as well!) and medical-grade skincare. Yes, they are more expensive, but the results are worth it – and they have science behind them.
We love the Toskani range in our Mudgee skin clinic - their products are specifically designed for individual skin conditions and contain active ingredients to treat a range of skin problems. Their products work to penetrate the skin, releasing active ingredients into the target layers.

5. Book a skin consultation

Not sure where to start? With so many treatments and products available, it can feel a little overwhelming, particularly if you’ve never had a solid skin routine. At the Beauty Reclaimed Cosmetic Centre in Mudgee, we offer a 45-minute skin consultation.
For just $99 (redeemable on products or treatments), we’ll perform a thorough skin assessment, recommending an at-home and in-clinic regime and products. We’ll then give your face a double cleanse and a light/peel & mask #lush. It’s a great way to kickstart your skin journey and get you ready for the year ahead.

So, why not resolve to invest in your skin for 2023? Get in touch with our Mudgee skin team here to start your skincare journey.
